Learn More About Summer Graduate Courses
Summer 2024 may be the perfect opportunity to use your education benefits from work, get a jump start on your education, or learn about something new! We even have opportunities to learn abroad through taking summer classes in France or with Global Experiential Learning (GEL) trips!
All summer courses are online. Although courses are offered online, please note that sections marked as synchronous require students to meet online at the times designated. Courses designated as asynchronous do not have set meeting times.
Special rate summer course registration is limited to a maximum of two courses per student. Students wishing to register for more than two summer courses should contact the Office of Academic Advising, Transition, and Progression at advising@cnof86.com.

Financial Aid
Current Shenandoah University students who will attend classes during the Summer terms may request a review of their summer financial aid eligibility by submitting a SU Summer School Financial Aid Application to the Office of Financial Aid. During the summer terms, Shenandoah can only offer Federal Pell Grants and Federal Loans provided you have not used up your eligibility during the Fall and Spring semesters. Most federal aid programs, including federal student loans, require you to enroll in at least 6 credit hours in each summer term to be eligible.
Summer Add/Drop Policy
The last day to add or drop a course differs for summer terms and is based on the duration of meeting times. A student is entitled to a full refund on a course according to the following guidelines:
Courses meeting 3 to 4 weeks – first day of class and the following business day
Courses meeting 5 to 6 weeks – first day of class and the following two business days
Courses meeting 7 to 8 weeks – first day of class and the following three business days
Courses meeting 9 or more weeks – first day of class and the following four business days
Summer Withdrawal Policy
A summer course withdrawal is based on the length of the course.
For courses running longer than two weeks, a student is able to withdraw prior to the 60% point of course completion. Tuition is only prorated if a student withdraws from all summer courses in a term by the 60% point.
